I.P.O. ANNUAL REPORT 1976 Innsbruck,  December 1976 SESSION OF THE EXECUTIVE BOARD On 12 January 1976 the Executive Board of the I.P.O. met at the Imperial Hotel in Vienna, Austria. On the occasion of the meeting, the members of the Board were received by the Austrian Federal Minister for Science and Research, Dr. Hertha Firnberg. They also met with the Director-General for Cultural Relations at the Austrian Foreign Ministry, Ambassador Dr. Georg Schlumberger. FOLLOW-UP TO CULTURAL DIALOGUE PROJECT On 28 May 1976, Mr. Kadhum Jawad, Director of Press-Representations, Ministry of Information of Iraq, gave a public lecture in Vienna, Austria, on "Cultural and Historical Links between the Arab World and Europe." In the course of his visit, Mr. Jawad met with the Director of the Press and Information Office of the Austrian Foreign Ministry, Ambassador Dr. Alfred Missong, jun. On 16 December 1976 the President of the I.P.O. met in Vienna with the Ambassador of Indonesia, H.E. Abdullah Kamil, and with the Cultural Attaché, Mr. Erico Sunardo. INFORMATION VISIT TO THE KURDISH REGION OF IRAQ From 17 to 25 April 1976 a delegation of the International Progress Organization undertook a fact-finding mission to the Kurdish region of Iraq. The delegation members - Dr. Hans Köchler, President; Dr. Hans R. Klecatsky, Member of the Executive Board, former Minister of Justice of Austria; Dr. Norbert Wimmer, President of the Association of Tyrolean Jurists - met, among others, with the Governors of the provinces of Mosul, Dohuk and Suleimania. They also met with representatives of Kurdish students and visited the University of Suleimania. PARTICIPATION IN INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCES On 9 September 1976 the President of the I.P.O. chaired a session of "Project Life 2000," the International Conference on Environment Protection, in Salzburg, Austria.
