Baku hosts int conference on “Dialogue of civilizations: role of parties”

International conference on “Dialogue of
civilizations: role of parties”, organized by the ruling YAP (New Azerbaijan
Party), started in Baku.
Fatma Abdullazadeh, chief of President’s Office
humanitarian policy department read Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev’s letter
of congratulation.
Deputy Chairman and executive secretary of YAP Ali Ahmadov said political
parties are one of the main factors of forming public opinion among the
countries.
He said that establishing political dialogue among different countries is one of
the main demands of the 21st century.
Karina Petersone, Deputy Speaker of Latvia’s Saeima said that improving the
relations among political parties is of great importance for establishing normal
interstate relations.
“Establishment of normal relations and restoration of dialogue among parties can
be achieved only through party democracy. Democracy is impossible without
dialogue,” she said.
Member of the International Forum “Dialogue of civilizations” Cemal Shak spoke
about the dialogue among religions. He considers that dialogue among
monotheistic religions can be established easier.
President of International Progress Organization, Dr Hans Köchler, noted that
antagonistic divergence among eastern and western countries existed after the
cold war as well.
“We should admit that some events impede the development of dialogue. But the
most optimal way of solution of all problems is through political dialogue,” he
said.
Valeri Malin, deputy chief of Russian parliamentary committee said dialogue
among civilizations removes differences.
