President of I.P.O. visits Nomura Center, discusses role of education in globalized world

In the course of an information visit to Japan, the President of the International Progress Organization, Dr. Hans Koechler, visited the Nomura Center for Lifelong Integrated Education in Tokyo. He was welcomed by the Director-General of the Center, Mrs. Yumiko Kaneko, who introduced to him the Directors and staff members at the Tokyo  headquarters and seminar house, and briefed him on the aims and activities of the Center. He also met with the International Director of the Center, Mrs. Hideyo Kimura.

During a discussion meeting in the Center's seminar house, the President of the I.P.O. explained the International Progress Organization's approach towards education and peace and discussed possibilities of co-operation between the two organizations.

The Director-General extended a formal invitation to Dr. Koechler to take part in the 10th International Forum of the Nomura Center which is to be held in December 2010 at the headquarters of UNESCO in Paris.
